Annie Keating Band & The Dreaming Spires

Another great evening out once again. The Dreaming Spires were a revelation, another great introduction. Listening to them made me think of the Byrds initially but as their set developed other influences were also clear but they have created their own British style of Americana. Hardly surprising given the artists that they play for or create with.

Annie was as exuberant and excited by the prospect of playing live in front of an appreciative audience as always. Lovely, thoughtful songs, ably supportedĀ  by a great trio of musicians.

It was great to get back to live music in our wonderful, local venue. Thanks, as always, to Ron and Hilary and everyone who contributes to these amazing evenings.

Annie Keating Band

Sunday 10th September 2023

Review & photos by Keith Belcher

Sunday 10th September 2023. After a 7 week break the new Live Room season kicked off with the return visit of The Annie Keating Band. The band tonight being Annie Keating, guitar and lead vocals, Joe Coombs, guitars, Jamie Dawson, drums and Mark Lewis , upright and electric bass.

Almost a year since the debut visit on 25th September 2022. They rocked the summer off in style to a very appreciative audience who had (hopefully ) dodged the late afternoon’s torrential rainfall. The entire show was pro filmed, hopefully clips will be available soon. Catch the tour if you can.

The first visit of New Yorker, Annie Keating and her band to The Live Room was an absolute triumph. Her band – Joe Coombs, guitar; Scott Warman, basses; and Jamie Dawson, drums – supported Annie superbly, with a performance of skill, maturity and power that had the audience cheering wildly from the first number.
